Lalit Sharma is an affiliate of a class of artists who have achieved admirable success in assimilating the finer elements of traditional miniature painting with contemporary style, to add rare beauty and grace to their work.

Sharma elegantly depicts, Rajasthani architecture in miniature style, though his oils acquire larger dimensions on the canvass. The fronts of the palatial buildings and places with jharokas, broad gates, and windows or pillars on either side are a refrain in Sharma’s paintings. They are treated meticulously to accurately create diverse textures. Backgrounds in dark colors are a salient feature of his oeuvre.

Lalit Sharma belongs to a renowned family of artists of Nathdwara, which has been pursuing traditional miniature art for many generations. His father Ghanshyam Sharma, a great exponent of the style provided him in the nuances of traditional painting. A highly creative; and innovative artist, Lalit Sharma paints in the modern Rajasthani idiom of miniature insets in large spatial arrangements of subtly graded colors.
