SUNEET GHILDIAL
‘ By having a closer look at his style of art, it appears to us as if his paintings are willing to proceed by combining the qualities of drawing, painting and prints al together. And, despite networking on canvas with color, the canvas of Suneet’s imagination appears to be filled with innumerable artistic possibilities and promises………. ……quite obviously, therefore, this is nothing but a assign phase in the work of a sensitive and innovative artist as Suneet is. He may further explore and exploit the possibilities of this phase and may end up creating something entirely new and different. In any case. I will be anxious about his next work (creation) ” - PRAYAG SHUKLA After his much talked about ‘ faces’ series, Suneet , once again, turns towards experiments. That is, concrete and abstract experiments go side by side. He himself says, ‘I work on both concrete and abstract mediums does not matter much for Suneet. ‘Time & Life’ are parallel. In art to. ‘Time and life’ are too parallel and complimentary limits. One’s absence negates to very existence of he other. Both have a tendency to grow. The realization of this rhythmic throbbing of ‘time & life’ is very much reflected in all my creations, turmoil’s, conflicts etc. However, despite all this, there is always an optimism attached to it. And it is that optimism in the midst of disappointment, pain, sorrow, etc that is the subject matter of my work. “Says Suneet Ghildial. Suneet’s style of painting has earned for him a distinct identity in the sphere of the well known contemporary artists of India. He has been honored with several regional and national awards including the most prestigious national award, and the Third Bharat Bhawan Biennial Award of contemporary Indian art Bhopal. For the last 18 years or so this talented and innovative artists is busy trying to give shape to his favorite theme of ‘time & life’ in various forms. He says, ‘ I have treated the turmoil of life, its ever changing nature and its evolution etc. at par with the rhythmic movement and texture, etc. of time. All my creations are a reflections of this. By feeling life in its miniature form. I paint its joys together with the realization of time.” Suneet uses the pieces of wood in canvas, engraves them and applies color to them to give them various shapes. However, Suneet prefers to use colors in a high transparent manner so that the basic color or texture of wood remains intact and is not overshadowed. All through, his approach remains linear. – Shekhar Jha Suneet Ghildial, born 1961, garhwal completed his master’s degree in applied art, HNB University of gahrwal, Srinagar-garhwal.
