Sumit Sen was born 1965. Since 1992 He has been Asst Professor in Painting at the Faculty of Fine Arts at the University of Rajasthan in Jaipur. He studied at Kala Bhavana, Viswa Bharti university, Santiniketan, gaining a BFA 1986 and MFA 1988 in Painting. Since 1986. he has exhibited in numerous group exhibitions and solo exhibitions throughout India . He has also secured numerous national awards. His work has been incorporated into many private collections within India and in England, Holland and Thailand.
In 2000 he had the opportunity to travel to Holland for a period of one month to further his career. His work is largely figurative and encompasses paintings, bronze sculptures and enamel paintings. He enjoys experimenting with his work through using different media such as acrylic colours on canvas, reverse side paintings on glass and acrylic sheets and mixed media on canvas.
