Vidhyasagar Upadhyay does not need a long introduction; his long artistic activity makes him famous in his country as well as in the rest of the world. His large production deals with different topics, he started as a figurative artist, became less and less pictorial and in the end he achieved an abstract expressiveness. The base of his way of working is a great love for his homeland culture and a strong influence by oriental philosophy. His research is limitless; he uses many different techniques and materials. He particularly cares for the chromatic aspects that are always moderate and never shocking.
